The Dragon tube cutting machine is standard equipped with the Hypertherm Powermax series plasma power sources . These offer excellent cutting quality, as well as a very long service life of the consumables.

In principle, all electrically conductive materials can be cut with plasma. Note: In the case of alloy steel, the results are of lower quality, requiring post-processing. The cutting edge is rougher, more oblique and, moreover, the cutting edge is black. This is because the alloy components burn and the metal could rust at this point. Thus, in all cases a rework (for example, grinding) is required. For thin-walled material (up to 1.5 mm), a clean cut is possible when using Hypertherm's FineCut cutting nozzles. Actually bare parts in stainless steel are only possible with Multigas installations (for example Hypertherm HPR or the Kjellberg HiFocus) using different technical gases (oxygen, argon/hydrogen,..)
