Welda NV together with its direct and indirect subsidiaries, affiliates and all separate legal entities that manage on our behalf (hereinafter collectively referred to as “Welda”, “we”, “us”, “our”) are committed to protecting your personal sphere of life.

This privacy statement, together with our Website Terms and Conditions and all other documents referred to in these documents, describes what data we collect about our customers, the customers in our showroom, the customers we visit, prospects, and visitors to www.welda.be, www.welda-machinery.com and other websites and mobile apps operated by us, gift card purchasers and any other person who contacts us (referred to as any “customer”, “user”, “you” or “your”). We will also indicate how Welda uses this data for legitimate business purposes and to better meet the needs of our current and potential customers.

1. What personal data can we collect about you?

We may process the following personal data about you:

Information you provide to us.

You can give us information about yourself by filling in forms (or part of them), setting up a user account or profile, subscribing to newsletters and other services, requesting a quote, entering into a maintenance contract or by order or rent a product, apply for a job, upload information to our website, submit a "question" about one of our businesses, use our contact form, participate in one of our online surveys, prize draws or promotions , or by contacting us in a personal or professional capacity by email , telephone or otherwise. We may transfer your information outside of the country in which it was collected for the purposes and to the parties listed above. Our main business systems, including the CRM-DMS system, are located in data centers within the EEA.

Data may be transferred to a country that may not offer the same level of privacy protection as the country in which the data was collected. However, we will take reasonable steps (including entering into data transfer agreements based on the model clauses of the European Commission where required) to ensure that your data is adequately protected by appropriate technical, organisational, contractual or other lawful resources.

We strive to protect your data through the measures below. Unfortunately, we cannot always guarantee complete security. Unauthorized access or use, hardware or software failures, events beyond our control and other factors may compromise the security of your information. Nevertheless, we will comply with our obligation to take appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure the security of personal data so that it is protected against the risks of a personal data breach.

Each Welda Group company stores data about its customers and contacts in a secure location, whether it be a database, a property management system, our DMS-CRM system, a marketing and research database or a filing cabinet. In addition, we take steps to ensure that only specific individuals have access to this data. When you sign up to complete or change a profile, our online communications with you are protected by encryption technology against eavesdropping techniques, depending on the browser you use. Credit card information is sent and stored in an encrypted format and is only unencrypted when required to make payments in the future. We strive to protect the security of your data in transit using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology. This technology encrypts the data you enter.

It is important that you are aware that e-mail communication is not secure. Using email carries inherent risks. Please be aware of this when requesting information or submitting forms to us by email (e.g. via the “Contact Us” page of our website). We recommend that you do not include confidential information (such as credit card information) in an email. For your security, our email replies will not contain any confidential information.

Finally, as a precaution, always close your browser when you have finished a form or purchase. Welda aims to respond to SARs within one month or as otherwise required by law.
  • Right to rectification. Data subjects may request us to correct any incorrect or incomplete personal data.
  • Right to withdraw consent. Data subjects may at any time withdraw their consent to the processing of their personal data by us on the basis of their prior consent. This withdrawal will not affect the lawfulness of processing based on such prior consent. If you withdraw your consent, you may no longer be able to use certain features of the service that require the processing of your personal data.
  • Right to object to processing, including profiling. We will honor valid requests of objection unless we have a compelling, overriding, legitimate reason to continue our processing or have another lawful reason to refuse the data subject's request. We will promptly comply with any valid opt-out request related to marketing communications. Welda aims to respond to all other inquiries within 72 hours. However, it may take up to 7 days to remove your profile from all our systems.
  • Rights in relation to automated decisions about you. When we make a decision based solely on automated processing that significantly affects the data subject, he or she may have the right to contest the decision, express his or her point of view and obtain human intervention.
